Your child’s secret weapon

You know the smell of his skin, the curve of his neck, every cowlick or curl, and every quirk. You’ve probably counted fingers and toes. You’ve been there for bath times and bedtimes, for skinned knees, bandaids and hurt feelings, for middle of the night fever vigils, and long days of the small moments that make up his life. You know all his firsts. You are the keeper of his story. You are the expert on this person of yours.

You are the person who knows your child best.

You may not feel like the expert that you really are. For many of us, I think that comes with the territory of parenting a child with social learning differences. Some of the inherent challenges can whack away at our sense of competence as parents, and for some of us, even our sense of hope for the future. But through RDI®, you can regain your sense of competence and confidence in how best to guide your child. You can fully harness your expert knowledge of this little human you love, engaging your whole person — your unique abilities, your strengths, your values — for the development and progress of your child.

I believe you are the game-changer for your child’s life and future. No one is more invested in your child’s future than you are, and no one knows your child better than you do. I don’t like to think of it as a war, but if it was a war, you would be the secret weapon that would win it.

“Both fathers and mothers are critical participants in the learning process.”

— Steven Gutstein, Ph.D.
